JAB Guest Book is a free guest book written in PHP, it works using flat files to store data which means no database is needed. Features include easy installation and customisation into your existing website. An administration panel which allows you to delete posts and ban users, additional administration configuration to un-ban users and to use the bad word filter. Ability for users to post messages with topic, email and comments including emotions (smilies). The main guest book works completely using only one file.

iPad is a shoutbox for any website. It doesn't require sql in any form, using flatfile for storage. This script is not quite a guestbook, it sits on your frontpage and allows people to leave comments. It's called a shoutbox! - Instructions: Open the .php file in notepad. Change the variables in the comment in the .php file. The $os variable needs to be WINDOWS or UNIX Upload all of the files from the zip. Change the permissions on this file and pad to allow anyone to modify/execute/read. Google if you need help. This is based on a previous piece of code, and is open or anyone to mess with.

This simple guestbook makes it possible to store messages from users. It stores the name, Email address (when given) as a mailto link and the message itself. It has 30 smileys at this moment, but other smileys are easilly added to this collection. It uses a simple CSS stylesheet which is easily modified to your own needs. It renders a valid HTML 4.01 STRICT guestbook with valid CSS2. This script contains line breaking (if words are too long) but smileycode is kept in tact. Also it's not possible to use/add scripts (javascript / php) in this guestbook, reducing SPAM and more unwanted effects.
